Medical Insurance Claims

Chapel Hill Primary Care is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (except for Blue Value and Blue Option Plans), Medicare (standard Medicare and Medicare PPO Replacement Plans), and all Aetna plans including Duke Basic and Duke Select.

Cash payers and individuals with insurance plans other than those listed above are more than welcome to be patients at Chapel Hill Primary Care. Full payment is due at the time of service, however. For patients with out-of network plans, the office can file out-of-network medical insurance claims on your behalf, and any reimbursement will be mailed directly to you from your insurance company.

Cash payers should expect their new patient visit to cost between $150-$200 depending on the complexity of the visit. Any labs are an additional fee. Follow up visits typically run between $80-$125, depending on the nature of the follow up visit(s).

Insurance Coverage for Lab Work:

Our in-office lab, Quest Diagnostics, accepts all insurance plans (except for United Healthcare) and will bill directly to your insurance plan.  We offer discounted laboratory test fees to patients without health insurance.

Filing Medical Insurance Claims

The office would be happy to file your medical insurance claims on your behalf. Please provide your insurance information at the time you make your appointment and bring your insurance card to each and every appointment for verification and scanning into our computer system. We recommend that you contact your insurance company directly if you have any questions or concerns about your particular plan’s coverage for a given appointment, any labs, or diagnostic tests. As there are thousands of insurance plans, it is important that each patient take responsibility for knowing the specifics of his or her particular plan.
